In Australia, where I live, we are pretty spoiled for beaches. So, when it comes to beaches, we know a thing or two. Whilst there are numerous beaches in Limassol city, the best ones are located just outside of the city.
Pissouri beach

Just 30km from Limassol is of Cyprus lies Pissouri Beach. A gorgeous golden sand beach, with multi coloured pebbles, Pissouri is a must visit beach. The magic of Pissouri is further enhanced by the stunning white cliffs of Cape Aspro at either side.
The blue flag beach has everything you need for a day at the beach including changing facilities, showers and toilets. In summer, there are also lifeguards. There are numerous restaurants and cafes nearby. Be sure to visit the actual village of Pissouri as well.
Governor’s Beach

Governor’s beach located in the Pentakomo village and only 10km from Limassol. Governors beach has dark sand and crystal clear calm waters. This makes it ideal for families with kids.
Some really nice fish tavernas are located at the beach and offer not just delicious food but great views as well. All amenities are available at Governor’s including changing rooms and showers. There is a children’s playground, sun beds and umbrellas to ensure you have everything you need for a day out at Governor’s.
Zapalo Bay

Set on the southwest coastline of the island, Zapalo Bay is a hidden treasure. It is located under the Sanctuary of Apollo Hylates. The walk down to the beach will take around 15 minutes however once you get there, it will simply be WOW!
Soft golden sand, steep cliffs, and submerged rocks are only a few of the natural treasures that you will get to see when you reach Zapalo Bay.
Kourion Beach

The 1 km long Kourion beach is in the Episkopi village. Just 17km from Limassol. The beach offers calm shallow waters that are particularly clean, due to the large amount of salt in the sea.
The beach is equipped with showers, toilets and changing Facilities. You can also rent umbrellas and sun loungers. There are a few tavernas to choose from that serve both Cypriot food and fish.
While the beach itself is worth a visit on its own, the Kourion archaeological site, is an added reason to visit. The site has an almost intact amphitheater and mosaics making it a “must see” especially if you love history!
Lady’s Mile Beach

Lady’s Mile beach is just 15 minutes from Limassol and is a gorgeous 8km long beach.
The sandy grey beach is popular with locals and travellers alike. Offering shallow clear and calm waters, the beach is popular with families. Choose to walk along the coast or just rent a sunbed and relax.
